    Resumen Cloud computing is a technology that allow the users to access software applications, hardware, storage, computing processes directly from the web. It offers two paradigms in computing; SaaS and PaaS. This paper reviewed the experience of using cloud computing in teaching a graduate level networking course. It had been used to share references, to create collaborative environments, to hold virtual discussions, to manage projects and to deployweb applications. The students were able to learn this latest computing technology without incurring any cost. This technology hadenriched the learning processes of the students through collaborative learning, group projects and web-based software development.

    Resumen Abstract With emergence of electronic systems and removal of paper, virtual technologies and electronics are becoming important. This paper discusses the importance of electronic training and emphasizes on its qualitative and quantitative development for some organizations or technical science and engineering students. The main focus of paper is on utilizing grounds of training based on usual network infrastructures such as internet or advanced distributed systems such as cloud computing environments. Finally, in new environments such as cloud computing, service composition and presenting virtual machine based on student's requirements and abilities significantly is more important that we address some problems in this issues.

    Resumen Abstract This paper describes the approach to the design and imp le mentation of a virtual learning laboratory (VLL) with the use of cloud computing technologies within the mode l of AaaS (Application as a Service). The formal model of composite application and a set of learning models using cloud-based {VLL} are proposed. The relation to learning objectives in accordance with the revised Bloom's taxonomy was identified for each model. The software tool to auto mate the creation and configuration VLL, based on the cloud computing platform {CLA} {VIRE} are presented. The paper ends with the description of case study implementation with the use of the offered approach.

    Resumen El correo electrónico es uno de los medios de comunicación que se revela como esencial en los próximos años. La universidad no podía quedarse fuera de esta realidad por motivos de enseñanza e investigación. Con la intención de verificar la introducción real del correo electrónico en las universidades públicas de Madrid, se ha diseñado y llevado a cabo una encuesta que intenta reunir datos de la opinión que los profesores tienen relativa a su uso y al conocimiento que tienen del correo electrónico y otros medios informáticos, así como su actitud hacia ellos. También nos hemos interesado en algunos asuntos relevantes relacionados al correo electrónico, tales como el nivel de satisfacción del usuario y las expectativas que genera este medio de comunicación. Una comparación empírica hecha entre la existencia de diferentes relaciones destaca la influencia de actitudes previas en los niveles de conocimiento de las herramientas, y la influencia de dicho conocimiento en su uso posterior. Igualmente, se ha demostrado la existencia de diferencias importantes entre las distintas áreas de conocimiento, las categorías profesionales y las universidades.

    Resumen In universities, teaching and research require a large number of scientific computing, and scientific computing need to invest huge funds to purchase hardware resources. As hardware replacement cycle is very short, and the university departments often repeat purchase of equipment, that resulting in low utilization of resources and low sharing rate. Based on analysis of current cloud computing related technologies and applications, this paper researched cloud computing architecture and its safety, proposed a new cloud computing architecture just for university research and teaching, at the same time, SaaS model was used to deployed the related software on the cloud platform, so that the resource utilization and computing of scientific tasks quality will be improved.

    Resumen Cloud computing aims to give users virtually unlimited pay-per-use computing resources without the burden of managing the underlying infrastructure. We claim that, in order to realize the full potential of cloud computing, the user must be presented with a pricing model that offers flexibility at the requirements level, such as a choice between different degrees of execution speed and the cloud provider must be presented with a programming model that offers flexibility at the execution level, such as a choice between different scheduling policies. In such a flexible framework, with each job, the user purchases a virtual computer with the desired speed and cost characteristics, and the cloud provider can optimize the utilization of resources across a stream of jobs from different users. We designed a flexible framework to test our hypothesis, which is called FlexPRICE (Flexible Provisioning of Resources in a Cloud Environment) and works as follows. A user presents a job to the cloud. The cloud finds different schedules to execute the job and presents a set of quotes to the user in terms of price and duration for the execution. The user then chooses a particular quote and the cloud is obliged to execute the job according to the chosen quote. FlexPRICE thus hides the complexity of the actual scheduling decisions from the user, but still provides enough flexibility to meet the users actual demands. We implemented FlexPRICE in a simulator called PRICES that allows us to experiment with our framework. We observe that FlexPRICE provides a wide range of execution options-from fast and expensive to slow and cheap– for the whole spectrum of data-intensive and computation-intensive jobs. We also observe that the set of quotes computed by FlexPRICE do not vary as the number of simultaneous jobs increases.

    Resumen Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) is a form of cloud computing that relieves the user of the burden of hardware and software installation and management. SaaS can be used at the course level to enhance curricula and student experience. When cloud computing and SaaS are included in educational literature, the focus is typically on implementing administrative functions. Yet, SaaS can make more immediate and substantial contributions to the technical course content in educational offerings. This paper explores cloud computing and SaaS, provides examples, reports on experiences using SaaS to offer specialized software in courses, and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of using SaaS at the course level. The paper contributes to the literature in higher education by analyzing the major technical concepts, potential, and constraints for using SaaS to deliver specialized software at the course level. Further it may enable more educators and students to benefit from this emerging technology.

    Resumen The massive proliferation of affordable computers, Internet broadband connectivity and rich education content has created a global phenomenon in which information and communication technology (ICT) is being used to transform education. Therefore, there is a need to redesign the educational system to meet the needs better. The advent of computers with sophisticated software has made it possible to solve many complex problems very fast and at a lower cost. This paper introduces the characteristics of the current E-Learning and then analyses the concept of cloud computing and describes the architecture of cloud computing platform by combining the features of E-Learning. The authors have tried to introduce cloud computing to e-learning, build an e-learning cloud, and make an active research and exploration for it from the following aspects: architecture, construction method and external interface with the model.

    Resumen El Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior (EEES) pone de manifiesto la importancia de definir una serie de competencias consideradas clave en la sociedad red. En este sentido, el proyecto Tuning propone un listado de las competencias que debe adquirir un estudiante a lo largo de una titulación universitaria, divididas en dos grandes bloques: genéricas, comunes a todas las titulaciones, y específicas, en función de la titulación. Algunas de las competencias genéricas están vinculadas al uso de las TIC. Entre éstas, el trabajo en equipo es una competencia genérica a la que se le da gran importancia. El presente artículo tiene como objetivo el análisis de la adquisición de las competencias genéricas en TIC a partir del desarrollo de un proyecto virtual colaborativo asíncrono en un contexto concreto: la asignatura Competencias de trabajo en entornos virtuales de la UOC. Partiendo de una aproximación al planteamiento pedagógico y de las valoraciones de los estudiantes y grupos implicados, el artículo muestra cómo la propuesta didáctica planteada facilita la adquisición gradual de las competencias genéricas en TIC y las propias del trabajo en equipo en un entorno virtual.
